Soul Winning

FOUNDATION SCRIPTURES: Mark 16:15-20, Matthew 28:18-20, Romans 1:16.

INTRODUCTION;
Jesus Christ came from heaven on a mission from God, to seek out and save the lost. Jesus came for the most important issue in history, the salvation of people.

DEFINITION OF SOULWINNING:
Taking steps share the positive message of Jesus Christ to the lost in the power of the Holy Spirit, with the purpose of having them receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.

1) CHRIST'S MISSION - SOULWINNING
i) 1 Timothy 1:5. Christ came to save the sinner (people). That is His mission.
ii) John 3:16-17. Jesus came to save the world (people).
iii) Luke 19:1-10 Jesus came to save the lost (people).
iv) Luke 15: 1-10 Jesus came to save people.
v) John 4:31-38. Jesus came to do the will of the Father, that is to save the lost (people).
People have the highest priority with God. He loves people, he wants people to come to him and be saved.
This is still the highest priority of the local and universal church.

2) BELIEVERS COMMISSION
i) Mark 16:15-20 Jesus authorised believers, not just special people but all believers have the responsibility to win souls for him.
ii) Acts 1:8 The purpose of the Anointing of the Holy Spirit was for the believer to have power to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ with signs and wonders.
iii) John 20:21 -22 Jesus has sent his followers to do his work in his place now on the earth. Jesus Christ's mission has now been handed to the believers, which become their commission.
iv) 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 Every believer has the ministry of reconciliation. That is to lead people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

3) REASONS WE ARE SOULWINNERS
i) Luke 19:10 Because Jesus was a soul winner. We are to follow in his steps and become soul winners. ii) Mark 16:15 Because Jesus said to do it. This is what our Lord has told us (the church) to do, don't wait for a calling, you are called to win souls.
iii) Matthew 9:35-38, Luke 10:1-2, John 4:35. Because the harvest is great. We don't have to wait for permission to go to the harvest field of the world, it is the already ripe for the harvesting now. iv) Matthew 9:37, Luke 10:2 Because God needs labourers. Without people who are willing to give up their all, he cannot go. God needs you to respond to his call to go.

CONCLUSION
Every believer is now a soul winner, no believer can say that they never had a calling.
Every believer has been given the ministry of reconciliation.
Every believer has become Christ's ambassadors.
Every believer now stands in the place of Christ.
Every believer has been commissioned to seek out and bring to Christ the lost.
People's salvation is the most important thing to God. That is why Christ came and died.
